🔹 About DIN 1.4562 (Alloy 31)

DIN 1.4562, also known as Alloy 31 or UNS N08031, is a super-austenitic stainless steel designed for maximum resistance to highly aggressive environments. It is composed of nickel, chromium, molybdenum, copper, and nitrogen, which together provide:

  • Excellent corrosion resistance in strong acids (sulfuric, phosphoric, nitric)

  • High resistance to pitting, crevice, and stress corrosion cracking

  • Long-term stability in chloride-rich and sour gas media

  • Superior mechanical strength with reliable weldability

🔹 International Equivalents of DIN 1.4562

  • DIN / EN: 1.4562 – X1NiCrMoCu32-28-7

  • UNS (USA): N08031

  • AISI / ASTM: Alloy 31

  • Trade Names: Nicrofer® 3127 hMo, Alloy 31
