What is a DIN 7981 Self Tapping Screw?
DIN 7981 self tapping screws are designed for pre-drilled holes in sheet metal or plastic components. The pan head with pozidriv (type Z) recess offers excellent torque transmission and reduced cam-out during installation.
This screw forms its own internal mating thread as it is driven into the material. The Type C thread form features spaced threads and a cone-pointed tip, also referred to as “Type AB” in some regions. It distinguishes itself from Type F (dog point/square tip) screws.
