Product Description – DIN 985 Nyloc Nuts

The DIN 985 nyloc nut is a prevailing torque type hexagon nut incorporating a nylon (polyamide) insert at the back end. When installed, the bolt threads deform the nylon insert, creating a tight frictional lock that prevents loosening due to vibration or shock loads.

• Type T (Low / Thin Profile): Standard profile variant under DIN 985

• High Profile Option: Covered under DIN 982 (Type P)

• Installation: Typically fitted with a spanner or socket wrench

• Standard Scope: DIN 985 covers low type nuts with non-metallic inserts for sizes M3 to M48

• Material Grades: Steel, property classes 8 and 10; other materials available upon request
