What is a Lap Joint Flange (LJF)?

A Lap Joint Flange is a two-piece assembly consisting of a Stub End and a Lap Joint Flange Ring. The Stub End is butt-welded to the pipe, while the flange ring slides over the pipe and rests on the back of the Stub End.

The ring is free to rotate, making bolt hole alignment quick and easy, reducing installation and maintenance time. Since only the Stub End contacts the fluid, the backing flange can be made from more cost-effective materials, offering significant savings.
