What Are Stud Bolts?
Stud bolts are threaded rods without heads, supplied in full-thread, double-end, or tap-end types. They are commonly used in high-pressure flanged connections, machinery assemblies, and structural applications requiring strong, secure fastening.
Common types include:
-
Double-End Studs (DIN 938 / DIN 939) – Thread at both ends with a plain shank in the middle
-
Full-Thread Studs (DIN 975 / DIN 976) – Threaded along the entire length
-
Tap-End Studs – Short thread on one end for tapping into components, long thread on the other for nut fastening
International Standards
DIN / ISO:
-
DIN 938, DIN 939 – Double-end studs
-
DIN 975, DIN 976 – Full-thread studs
-
ISO 898-1 – Mechanical property classes (4.6, 8.8, 10.9, 12.9)
